PEEBLES

Peebles stands on a hill near the White Meldon and well isolated from the town. Built by the IBA, Peebles entered service on the 23rd May 1975 with three UHF TV channels. Channel 4 was added in July 1984. BBC FM radio was added in November 1981 with Radio's 1 & 4 from the 20th January 1993. ILR (Radio Borders) launched on the 22nd January 1990. |
At the very top is the ILR transmit aerial. A band II slant polarised dipole at 52m. Below that are the UHF transmit panels, followed by some mobile phone panels. Below these are the BBC FM radio transmit aerials, comprising of six, slant polarised, band II log periodics. Two pointing in each of the three directions. |
