THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY
ST. AUSTELL
Photos by Derek Tunbridge | Page last updated: 2019-07-30 |
The site is reached by a very steep but well maintained road, with a well hidden access, which has only taken me four years to find! Originally an IBA landlord site, St. Austell entered service on the 23rd January 1976 as a relay of Caradon Hill. Site number 131.01. Channel 4 was added in July 1984. ITV was changed to relay Redruth in the 1990's. BBC 1 & 2 were changed to relay Redruth on the 4th December 2008, prior to DSO. |
Redruth log periodic is centre left, Caradon Hill trough antenna is top right |
Mount Stamper BT tower is visible to the East. |
On a clear day, the view must be magnificent. |
