New UHF Tx aerial - July 2019

During the July 2019 heatwave most people might go to the beach at Beesands, Devon, to enjoy the fine weather and cool down in the sea. mb21 photographers have other ideas, taking their cameras for a walk up the hillside to the Slapton Tx site. From the free public car park at Beesands, it is about a 25 minute walk to the Slapton transmitter tower. First northwards beside the beach, then inland and uphill into a field which leads to the access track, all on signed footpaths.

For 700 MHz band clearance, the UHF transmit aerials, both the cylinder and open 4 tier cardioid, have been replaced. See the earlier sets of pictures for this strange arrangement. It was also an opportunity to get some close-ups of the DAB aerials. The B700 channels changes were implement at Slapton on 19/6/2019.
