REIGATE

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2020-02-07

Local TV added - February 2020

London local TV entered service at Reigate on 16th October 2019. Transmission are on UHF channel 35, the same channel as used at both Crystal Palace and Croydon, although Reigate is vertically polarised.

6 tiers of crossed shrouded UHF log periodics have been added to the Reigate tower to transmit local TV.

Also of note is the removal of the redundant 4 tiers of phased band III dipoles. They were on the right of the tower at the same level as the new local TV aerials. Also gone are the shrouded UHF log periodics which were below the interleaved band II and band III aerial panels. They used to transmit Channel 5 and interim DTT muxes C & D. And finally, the top of the UHF cylinder has had a small extension added. This is a damper, designed to reduce vibration and noise.

Close up.

The interleaved band II and band III, FM and DAB radio transmit aerials.
