THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY
BRECON UHF
Photos by Lee Pullen | Page last updated: 2020-04-19 |
A family walk took us past Brecon UHF. Some changes can be seen since the last photos, mainly a new UHF transmit cylinder and the upgrade and removal of mobile network infrastructure. The new UHF transmit cylinder was installed for 700 MHz band clearance. The channel changes were implemented on the 15th May 2019. |
View looking north east from the public footpath. Quite a bit of redundant equipment looks to have been removed over the years. |
View from the South East showing the receive panels facing Abergavenny. |
The new UHF transmit cylinder which is of a slimmer design than the original cylinder. It is interesting to note that the square cross-section steelwork, which the cylinder is attached to, has been retained. This looks like the top section of a standard UHF relay station, 45m square tower, which has been bodged to fit onto a triangular mast. |
