THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

HEMEL HEMPSTEAD (PIMLICO)

At the top are the two UHF trough aerials which used to transmit analogue TV.

Two sets of band III DAB panels with the UHF DTT panels in between. The upper (79m) band III panels transmit the BBC and London 2 DAB multiplexes. The lower (69m) panels transmit all of the other DAB multiplexes.

Three sets of UHF panels used to transmit all of the TV multiplexes, including the local TV mux.

The radiation pattern of the UHF TV panels.

The two, three element vertical yagis which transmit BBC Three Counties Radio. Ofcom Tx Parameters indicated that the one on the left points north-northwest, while the one on the right points southeast. The reflector element is now completely missing from southeast yagi.

The array of slant polarised, 4-element band II yagis which transmit ILR.

Viewed from further round the mast.

And further round again. I count five yagis in total for ILR.

Receive aerials. Twin UHF troughs facing Crystal Palace with a four element band II yagi pointing towards Zouches Farm.

The Zouches Farm receive aerial provides the programme feed for BBC Three Counties Radio.

The adjacent former Police tower.
