SALISBURY

Photos by Neil White & Martin Brown Page last updated: 2021-01-02

September 2020 & July 2019

Neil writes: Whilst on holiday in the area we spotted this site a few miles south of Salisbury. Actually locating the base of the site took a further visit a few day later.

After studying the my photos and those of the previous recorded visit in 2017 the only differences I could see was the two receive troughs have been recovered.

General view of the north side of the tower.

Difficult to photograph due to the trees surrounding the site.

[Ed] It is believed that the UHF cylinder was replaced in November 2017 for 700 MHz band clearance, however it doesn't look any different from the July 2017 pictures.

Just below the UHF cylinder are the band III DAB panels and the band II FM radio dipole. On the left are the are the crossed shrouded UHF log periodics which transmit local TV.

Left the four redundant Channel 5 receive aerials. Right is a single log periodic aerial pointing towards Rowridge.

Left July 2017.................... Right September 2020.

Note that the UHF trough receive aerials have been removed, as have several other antennas.
