QFM were given a license to cover Paisley, west of Glasgow. The frequency of 96.3MHz was licensed for 200W per plane from what we called Sergeant Law. The tower is a 60m Balfour Beatty square type. |
Looking up what must be the eastern face, the AEA antenna is at the top. |
The site is well located for coverage of Glasgow. In common with Blackpool, the AEA antenna is installed incorrectly with its elements vertical/horizontal because of limited data from the manufacturer (in Singapore). |
The view from the top looking south-west. |
Looking down from the antenna position, the Radio Authorities survey vehicle is there and the transmitter building with its door open. |
