WIVENHOE PARK

As I was in the area, having just photographed the community radio station at Wivenhoe Cricket Club, I thought I take a look at the UHF TV installation at Wivenhoe Park to see if there were any changes made for 700 MHz clearance. At B700 on 1-Aug-2018, Wivenhoe Park moved from transmitting in the upper part of band V to band IV. Transmissions of the three commercial multiplexes commenced and the ERP was doubled from 10W to 20W. |
The four "North Towers" at Essex University. William Morris is home to the UHF TV relay. Keynes to the ILR Tx aerials. |

The top, close up. Sudbury Rx on the left. Tx on the right. Also a safety rail now surrounds the top. |
Two tiers of UHF log periodics for transmit. They look quite clean and shiny, so may have been replaced for 700 MHz clearance. |
A single UHF log periodic for Sudbury receive. I wouldn't have thought that the SHF antenna is anything to do with the TV relay. |
The top of Keynes Tower, southwest side, which has the ILR transmit aerials. |
Two tiers of slant polarised, folded band II dipoles, for ILR transmit. |
