| Creteway Down Mk.1 was a 405-line BBC TV relay, or translator as they were called back then. The structure was a 37m stayed mast. It was the first BBC television relay station, and entered service on 14-Jul-1958. The linked BBC RD report at the end of this page refers to the new transmitting aerial which went into service on 1-Aug-1963. The transmitter closed in January 1984. |
