Was on the way down to Oban so thought I'd stop by and get some photos. Parked at Leitir Mhor by the A828. Set off from there following the tracks till one came to a waterfall and seemed to end. Turned back and decided to go up the side of the hill following a fence for support. I was starting to get worried how I was going to get back down as it was going dark. Thankfully a couple of minutes later I saw the transmitter which I knew had a track leading back to civilisation. Why I didn't follow it in the first place and park in Glenachulish I don't know, but probably wouldn't have had as much light otherwise.
According to Ofcom parameters, Nevis Radio started broadcasting from Glenachulish in 1997. This site has good coverage of the Glens. As well as the Loch Leven area, I've also received a decent signal down Glen Tarbert into Strontian, down to Appin, Glen Nevis and on the A830 around Beasdale. |
