New UHF transmit aerials - June 2023

The UHF transmit panels at Ton Pentre have been replaced as a consequence of 700 MHz band clearance.
TV transmissions moved from upper band V to band IV on 15-May-2019.

The original curved profile panels have been replaced with these flat faced panels. The embossing on the front is that of antenna manufacturer Sira.

No change to the band II FM radio transmit panels. CSA slant polarised skeleton slots. Note that there is no slot aerial on the panel facing the camera on the south side.

No change to the UHF receive trough on Wenvoe which is about 16 miles to the southeast.

Band II receive aerials. The 4 element Yagi is now redundant since the Radio Wales transmitter was relocated from Wenallt to Wenvoe in 2011.

No Arqiva sign here.

Rhondda, 2.1 miles to the southeast..

Treorchy in the valley to the north-northwest.
