New transmit aerials - May 2024

The original curved profile band V transmit panels have been replaced at Armitage Bridge as a consequence of the channel changes for 700 MHz band clearance (B700). All 3 multiplexes now transmit in band IV. B700 clearance at Armitage Bridge was implemented on 5-Feb-2020.

Although the site is beside a road, it lies within a woodland area making photography of the aerials somewhat challenging, particularly as the broadcast aerials face away from the road.

270m from the tower at the far end of a field, a clear view of the top section with all of the aerials is available.

By the power of a zoom lens we can get a closer view of the aerials.

The new UHF transmit panels embossed with the Sira logo. The top tier panels have quite a significant downward tilt.

A single UHF log periodic at the top is used to receive Emley Moor.
