THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

KILLEARN

Photos by Jack Richardson Page last updated: 2025-07-19

Detailed photos - July 2025

This site is located up a track from the A809/B834 junction, which is where I parked. This is also the parking for Finnich Glen/Devil's Pulpit, which is a gorge carved in red sandstone. I went down to it after taking photos of the transmitter site, following the crowds, I didn't know about it. Steep descent to get down to the glen, but worth visiting.

Since David's 2004 photos, the UHF cylinder was replaced in July 2018 for B700 clearance. The trough RBL antennas remain though.

The new slimmer transmit cylinder.
