GREAT MASSINGHAM

Photos by Jack Richardson Page last updated: 2025-10-16

August 2025

Came here whilst camping in South Lincolnshire with dad. Great Massingham is a very pleasant Norfolk village.

You can drive to the site up a track, where it seems a footpath continues into the Norfolk countryside. You're on a plateau here, with good views over the surrounding countryside.

The DAB/GHR tower is on the left, the taller Radio Norfolk tower on the right.

Antennas at the top of Radio Norfolk tower. I have no idea what these are used for.

Radio Norfolk FM transmit. Height 65m.

Driving back from a concert at Sandringham in 2023, the signal from this lasted till about Grantham, when Radio Derby started to interfere.

Stoke Holy Cross FM RBL. SHC is 32 miles away.

Moving onto the smaller tower... the DAB antennas.

At 42m, the antennas for GHR, and what I assume is a back up Sira FMC-01?

GHR Sira FMC-01. This was photographed in Sean's 2008 photos, where it's looking head-on towards the camera.

Back of FM antennas and DAB antenna. No FM antennas on this north facing side.

DAB receive dish

The buildings for the larger tower. I assume the Radio Nofolk transmitter is in the right building?

Brink Hill towers. One of the King's Lynn small scale DAB transmitters.

The very attractive Great Massingham village.
