Temporary mast - March 2026

From the BBC Reception website:

04 March 2026
The New Barnet Freeview relay transmitter is located on the Albert Road gas holder. As the gas holder is scheduled to be demolished, a temporary transmitter will be brought into service at a nearby location while a permanent site is agreed and developed.

There will be a brief interruption of service between 5th March, when services switch to the temporary mast.

If you receive your signal from the New Barnet transmitter, you should not need to do anything. The frequencies used on temporary mast are the same and your aerial will not need to be adjusted.

The temporary transmitter is located in the New Barnet Leisure Centre car park.

The temporary site is 200m east of the Gas Holder site.
