Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2026-07-15

In the sunshine - July 2026

20 years on since Jordy Lyons visited Killowen Mountain and the only visible change is the weather. Killowen remains an active deflector providing the UHF TV programme feeds to the Kilkeel relay.

Transmit centre, receive on the right. The tower in the distance on the left looks like its a former home office site.

A single trough to receive the programme feeds from Divis.

Twin vertical troughs transmit towards Kilkeel.

Kilkeel as seen from Killowen Mountain. 4.5 miles away.
