DUNDEE (MENZIESHILL)
Photos by Dan Glover | Page last updated: 2011-06-08 |
The original Camperdown relay was located on one of Dundee's many (until recently) blocks of flats - "multis" to the locals. In the last few years the council has pursued a programme of rehousing and demolition. Shortly after DSO it was to be the turn of the block with the relay - so a new site had to be found. The Menzieshill water tower is fairly prominent on the Dundee skyline and not far from the previous site. The relay serves a small area of the city which is screened from Angus (and, presumably, from Tay Bridge). British Relay operated a cable scheme in this area may years ago. It was late in the afternoon and we were unable to locate the former site before darkness fell. |
A very chunky structure, supporting a minimalist arrangement of logs... |
The equipment is tucked away between the legs of the tower |
