The Ipswich UHF TV relay which was originally located on top of the Borough Council building, right in the centre of the town. It entered service on 19-Nov-1982 to serve about 2630 people.
It's a pretty standard array, one horizontal receive log aimed at Sudbury, and two pairs of crossed vertical transmit logs (one pair pointing SW, the other SE), which appear to illuminate quite a large portion of the town (judging by the number of group A vertically polarised domestic aerials I spotted)... pretty good for a 7W relay! |
