These amazing photos were taken after dark at 10pm. When Tony wrote to mb21 he said:
"Please be my guest to use these pics. I havebeen taking photos on film since 1976, but only since last May have I used DSLR, this one being the Canon 450D with kit lens (Canon18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS) a Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Telephoto/Macro & the Canon Nifty Fifty 50mm f/1.8 MKII Prime. So as you can see, just a budget setup. As for mounts I have made a clamp which on these photos was fixed to the sunroof rails of the car and triggered by the external shutter release. It was around 10pm the other night after work and I parked in the tower's service road along side the camp site just off Sydenham Hill."
"To photograph a subject in daylight is one thing but I find these transmission towers come into their own when lit up at night; there seems to be very few shots of towers with their navigation lighting displayed, so I thought I would submit my local tower just 2 miles from me". |
