| Salcombe was originally an IBA landlord site which entered on 15-May-1981 to serve 1200 people. Channel 4 was added on 6-Jun-1986. BBC FM radio entered service in November 1996. DSO 12th August and 9th September 2009. When I was getting permission from the land owner he said (I thought this is interesting) that the relay is used by the RNLI for getting a radio signal to the Salcombe lifeboat, due to Salcombe being in a radio blackspot. |
