Dursley VHF was located on Symonds Hall Farm, over the road from the Dursley UHF mast. It was only a 'tiny' transmitter - 40W, but its high location (294m asl) meant its signal was widely heard. It looks like it picked its signal off air from the main transmitter using the single dipole and then rebroadcast it using the stacked pair - only a guess - I may be wrong! The uppermost section of the mast also appears to have a cable running to it - a lightning conductor?






The cables seem to go to this little 'shed' but I couldn't investigate further due to the weather and muddiness of the site.


When Shawn Chew visited this site he commented: "I have no idea why they didn't put the antennas on the existing Dursley UHF tower!"
