July 2014

The FM network for "The Voice" consists (as far as we can ascertain, it seems to have been altered from the original plan) of two transmitters on 107.8 MHz (nominally serving Bideford and Ilfracombe) and one on 106.1 MHz serving the town of Barnstaple. We assume that this latter is the parent station, at least for the site photographed here, ie Holmacott (Bideford relay). (This set up has subsequently been confirmed by a member of the station staff).

The BBC Barnstaple VHF/FM site is only about 250 yds away.

We assume that this is the RBL, tilted downwards and pointing as it does towards the middle of Barnstaple.

Not quite sure what purpose the second feeder serves...?

(We have been contacted by someone involved in the station who informs us that the second feeder is a spare and may be used in the future to provide facilities for a link.)
