Clarborough is a new DAB site added as part of the step 1 framework agreement between the DCMS, BBC, Arqiva and the multiplex operators to expand DAB coverage to match that of Independent Local Radio on FM. Digital One and the Sheffield local multiplex started transmitting in July 2016 from this tower, which should improve DAB reception to the Retford area, including the A1 and East Coast Main Line railway, where reception from Clifton is patchy.

The power station to the right of the picture is West Burton which lies just south west of Gainsborough.

Two tiers of band III dipoles for DAB transmit.

The now familiar GPS receive cones used as a timing reference for DAB transmissions.

Panoramic view of the town of Retford which this site will serve, can be seen from the top of Clarborough Hill, where this tower resides.
