April 2025

Noticed there was no images of Koast FM 106.6 in Ashington, so while on a visit to nearby Newbiggin-by-the-sea, I decided to detour into Ashington on the way home.

I visited the studio location first and found a STL pannel antenna on the chimmey pointing towards the college. While walking around I saw the folded dipoles in the rear compound (After visiting the transmission site now realised these were the remains of the Lindenblad dipole array)

Noting from google street view in Aug 2024 the Lindenblad dipole array was in use a recent upgraded/replacement of two phased circular dipole are now in place (April 2025)

The remains of the Lindenblad dipole array within the studio rear compound. Old Google street view shows the Lindenblad in use in 2024

New install of two circular dipoles (unsure of date of upgrade) and STL panel antenna pointing towards studio at Woodhorn Villas
