Shieldhall Wharf was the original transmitter site for Celtic Music Radio, a community station. The station now transmits on FM from Grafton Place.

The transmitters are on the left a Redifon BT500 capable of 500 Watts and on the right a Redifon BT1002 (ex Sunshine ☀ Radio) capable of 1000 Watts.

Also in the picture is the Optimod Processor, audio was delivered to the site via a Wi Fi link connected to a Barix stl.

The tx aerial consisted of a 51ft vertical end fed antenna with a cap hat, tuned to earth in the river Clyde. Frequency 1530 kHz.

This was a Peter Chicago installation.

This site was operational from 16th January 2008 till it was replaced by an FM TX on 95 MHz at Grafton Place.
