Comments: Blackburn-in-Rotherham is a relay of Emley Moor. Pre B700 allocations: 60/57/53.

Hide historic services

Bill: "The Blackburn-in-Rotherham site is right next to the M1 near the Meadowhall shopping centre, and a short walk from the Wincobank transmitter! The Wincobank one is much older, and I could never understand why they didn't cover Blackburn estate from there. You can see Wincobank mast from most of Blackburn, although they would have had to move the Wincobank mast a bit because of the gasometers to get 100% coverage."
Blackburn-in-Rotherham entered service in the mid 1990's.

As the sign suggests, the relay has not developed into a site share

In this view looking almost like a rural relay, any changes since Bill's visit are cosmetic rather than technical. The "tripole" structure has been painted and the adjacent ground landscaped. The leaning telephone pole has gone as well.

Emley Moor seems to be behind a ridge when viewed from the site - probably the reason for twin receive logs?
