Comments: Llangeinor is a relay of Wenvoe for both TV and network FM. Pre B700 allocations: 59/55/50.

Hide historic services

The Llangeinor relay is located halfway up Mynnydd Moelgelia. It serves the small towns of Llangeinor and Bettws as well as to the communities in the Garw valley, including Pontycymer and Blaengarw.

It's a nice drive up to this site in the sun - but I wouldn't like to be up here in bad weather, it's very exposed!

The relay has two arrays of four vertical panels, one facing South, the other Northwards.

It also relays FM radio, and transmits from two vertical Band-II log periodics facing North, and one facing South.

Reception is achieved by a UHF Trough for TV and Band-II log for FM, both on Wenvoe.

Llangeinor was originally a BBC landlord site which entered service with ITV on 19-Jul-1974. BBC 1 & 2 followed in October 1974 with S4C available from the launch on 1-Nov-1982. DSO was on 3rd and 31st March 2010.

BBC FM radio entered service on 19-Aug-1993.
