Rob wrote: This site was flagged as in need of an update showing the Tx antenna, so here it is, plus a little more.

The site is on Firestone Hill where there are no less than 5 masts within about 100m! Why can't all the mobile operators just share?! Anyway. Ofcom's sitefinder and what the board at the site gate say is there don't match either so what's actually going on here mobile network wise is anyones guess, but I digress. The site in question here is named Belper so I assume it therefore serves Belper, and was probably a small wooden pole at one time, although no evidence of this could be seen. (It has always been a 30m tower ED). Receive is one simple log, transmit is a set of bowties.

The site is surrounded by trees making photographing it difficult, but I got the shots I needed!

Belper was originally a BBC landlord site which entered service in September 1981 to serve 4,900 people. Channel 4 was added on 3-May-1985. DSO was on the 17 and 31-Aug-2011.

This site is now included in the Update List for the following reason:
UHF transmit aerial likely to have been replaced for B700
