Penderyn is the most easterly relay of Carmel and is located on a hillside to the East of the village, and just above the Penderyn distillery (Ish ve only distirrelly in Wales *hic*).
This relay sends it signal up and down the valley from four pairs of crossed log-periodics at the top of the tower, and recieves via two very high-gain yagis.
Lots of DSO work has happened here recently, and apparently everything - even the tower and base - is new.
[Only the top section of the tower looks new to me, suggesting the existing tower has been made taller. It was extended from 12m to 17m - mb]
Even with its elevated position reception must be a problem here due to the surrounding land being higher in just about all directions, to the North you have the Brecon Beacons, to the South and East there are the heads of the valleys; so the only option left is Carmel to the West.
