Berwick-upon-Tweed is just 4 miles south of the Scotland/England border and for BBC1/2 it is a relay of Chatton (NE England region) and was formerly, for ITV/Ch4, a relay of Selkirk (Border region).

With DSO in mind it has been decided that all such split-region relays will be rationalised and thus on 13-Dec-2006 Berwick-upon-Tweed was switched to being a full relay of Chatton and now carries ITV programmes from the Tyne Tees region.

Berwick-upon-Tweed entered service on 28th October 1977, with Channel 4 from February 1984. Radio Borders was added on 22nd January 1990. BBC national FM from 9th October 1991. DSO was on 12th and 26th September 2012.
