BOWMORE

Photos by MA Page last updated: 2012-12-10

Bowmore was originally built in 1980, broadcasting with vertical polarisation only. Addition of the horizontal
component was proposed in order to extend the service to feed the relay at Portnahaven. It was implemented
using separate power amplifiers and channel combiner for the HP service. At DSO the output of the new
equipment will be split to the VP and HP antennas in the ratio of 80%:20% respectively.

The tx aerial is 8 crossed vertical logs for the local transmission to the village of Bowmore and area, and below that are the horizontal RBL yagis, pointing to Portnahaven.
