Show historic services

Glen Urquhart 2008

Glen Urquhart was built in June 1979 and entered service in November, that same year. It was designed to serve a population of about 500 people. Channel 4 was added on 20-Feb-1987. The original design transmitted with vertical polarisation only. A horizontally polarised component was added in 2001 to restore coverage to a few houses which lost reception when the antennas were moved to a new tower in 1998. Transmitter power is split 90% to the original VP antenna and 10% to the HP antenna.
