May 2010 - DAB and other details

DAB service dates: BBC, 1st August 1997; Digital One, 27th October 1999; Herts/Beds/Bucks, 14th February 2013, Sound Digital, 29th February 2016.

This sign is under the trees which surround the perimeter and now needs a good clean!

Part of the mission was to find the FM receive antenna. There appear to be three...

...the two logs on the left are to receive Peterborough. The one on the right is in the direction of Zouches Farm, or perhaps even Wrotham

There are two arrays of mixed polarisation band II panels. The upper 4 tiers transmit the BBC nationals and Classic FM. The lower 2 tiers, which only have panels facing north and west, transmit the two local FM services. BBC and ILR.

DAB is hiding inside the upper array: the smaller vertical dipoles.
