Comments: Ballycastle is a relay of Limavady for Radio 4 and Divis for R1, R2, R3, R. Ulster

Ballycastle only radiates BBC network radio (FM). The UHF TV relay was established at a new site called Ballycastle Forest, but the radio was never moved.

Originally built for BBC VHF TV and FM radio, with BBC 1 on channel 4. Both entered service on 12th December 1966. ITV on channel 13 was added on 6th July 1970. Both VHF TV services were closed on 6th April 1982.

FM radio was re-engineered for mixed polarisation in October 1987 at which time Radio 4 was added. Radio 1 was added on 14th May 1993.

Note the receive aerials lower down, with the yagis on Limavady for Radio 4 only and the logs pointing at Divis for all other services.

Also - not a GSM antenna in sight!
