Local DAB. September 2015 and a view from above

The Brighton local DAB service launched on 31st July 2015, transmitting from the Sussex Heights tower block.

Martin writes: Reception on my car DAB radio seemed good around the city, but was quickly lost as soon as I headed north on the A23 down what is the north facing slope of the South Downs.

The two vertical dipoles seen low down the pole on Dan's pictures have gone, being replaced with a pair of folded band III dipoles for DAB.

The slant polarised band II dipoles above for Juice FM remain unchanged.

These final two pictures were taken from the Brighton i360 by Rincent Pye in October 2018.
