Carlisle MF, also know as Brisco, was originally built for the opening of Radio Carlisle, which launched on 24th November 1973 on 755 kHz. A transmitter for Radio 4 was added in 1975 on 1052 kHz. The current frequencies came into use with the November 1978 changes.




The band II Yagi on the left wall of the Tx building is pointing towards Sandale for RBS purposes.
