Spark FM (formerly 107 Spark FM) launched in October 2009 and it appears from Paul's update that the transmission arrangements remain unchanged. Prior to being awarded a Community Radio licence the group responsible for the station completed a number of RSL operations as "Utopia FM" and similar names.

The transmit site is a block known as as Church Street North which is about half a mile to the north of the studios.

...from Paul's update we can confirm the station uses an end-fed vertical with an SHF panel providing the link from the studio.


As seen in January 2017 - no change to the arrangements - but seen in more detail.




The Spark FM studios at the David Puttnam Media Centre which is part of the University of Sunderland.
