Originally an accidental find but upon re-discovering these images I thought I'd best update the hit list!

I wasn't searching for this site at the time, however when passing by it on a cycle path I noticed the unusually placed antenna and decided I had to investigate!

After finding the exit off the path, I was lead into the middle of a farm, expecting not to find anything else I then spotted another unusual antenna.

The unusual antenna in question didn't appear to be pointing towards any local transmitters.

The penny finally drops as I think to myself . "That's an awful lot of equipment and cabling for a receive antenna!". Upon looking to where the aerial points, I found its final destination.

The target audience of Callander Holiday Park is just about visible from the transmit antenna. Shaded from the main Callander TV Relay by trees and a small hill. Hence the need for this relay. We can't have the residents missing their repeats of Gogglebox while on holiday now can we!

A close up of the self help enclosures. The Ofcom data sheet from 2006 lists this as an analogue active deflector of the Callander frequencies. Given the fields worth of distance between the receive and transmit antenna this still seems to be the case, only changing to a digital active deflector at DSO. If I find the time to reception test this in future though I will find out for definite. [Ed]. Callander Holiday Park was one of 26 self-help relays to convert to a digital licence at DSO. It remains an active deflector of Callander. The black cable leading directly down seems to be the feed from the receive antenna pictured at the beginning. Judging by the minimal rust present on the enclosures I assume they were upgraded at DSO. I'll try and post an update when I'm next in Callander of how reception from this setup fairs up at the Holiday Park. It seems capable of transmitting a good signal and looking on google maps, all of the roadside caravans with TV aerials are pointing towards this one so it's definitely welcomed at the park.
