Show historic services

Updated April 2012

On the roof of Enterprise House which appears to be sheltered accommodation rather than the office block which the name and architectural style might suggest.

Chingford UHF entered service on 11-May-1979 to serve 3,500 people. Channel 4 was added on 21-Jun-1985.

As shown in this earlier photo from Michael Bryan, the ground rises behind the building - but the intended service area is probably the low-lying ground along the Lea Valley.

Michael had the benefit of a nice sunset to offset the otherwise rather grey scene

The approach to the building. One of those shots where it's impossible to make everything appear vertical...

From the front: the receive log is partially hidden behind the parapet

A clear view is available round the back. Shame the dipoles are slightly out of focus. The two dishes are assumed to be part of a head end for distribution within the building, along with the other "domestic" antennas

The view across the Lea Valley towards Edmonton.

Note the long poles on the houses in the foreground - obviously not content with four analogue channels/three PSB multiplexes from round the corner.
