Kirkcaldy Community Radio K107 FM

I took a quick drive over the Forth Bridge on Sunday, 4 May 2014 to capture images of new community station K107 FM's Tx setup. The station launched on 31st March 2014.

The Tx aerial is a standard simple folded dipole as used by many other UK community radio stations. It sits atop a small block of flats in Glamis Road, Kirkcaldy, on high ground to the west of the town centre.

The regulation 25W ERP gets out very well. It can be heard in parts of Edinburgh, as well as along much of the south bank of the Forth as far west as Grangemouth.

The simple TX dipole can be seen on the roof of the flats. The TV and FM receive aerials to the left of it are pointing to Craigkelly.

A closer view.
