| This is an odd place - the site is within a gas depot and the immediate approach runs through a small industrial area but there are recently-built school sports facilities immediately to the south. As a result there is no access to the tower - planning documents show a new cabin was to be provided together with the usual ground-mounted dish BBC, D1 and the local multiplex all entered service in September 2015 - Dan's visit to the site soon after had to be abandoned as it was dark on arrival - no such problem this time |
| It still seems odd to see "gas" and "national grid" together. Somewhere along the line the mergers of the gas and power distribution networks left Arqiva, as successors to the "wireless" business, with the ex-gas board radio sites |

| The area to the south of the gas depot has been landscaped probably as part of the school development. It will be a long time before the trees and shrubs hide the 79 m tower The DAB antenna is two dipoles on a cantilever at the very top. Positioned to give maximum ERP to just north of west (bearing 300) they are virtually end-on when seen from here... |
| ...but an area of open ground just to the south east of the site gives a better angle. It appears the two dipoles are fed independently |
