Show historic services

March 2016

Hyde Farm is to the north west of Maidenhead and entered service in March 2016 with BBC, Digital One, Berks & N Hants, and London 1, 2 & 3 DAB multiplexes.

Martin took advantage of a sunny March morning to photograph this new DAB site.

Two tiers of band III dipoles used for DAB transmit.

Satellite receive dish used for the programme feed for the BBC and Digital One multiplexes.

Round the back of the dish is a Norsat LNB for 12.25 to 12.75 GHz with silica dehydrator attached to the waveguide.

The familiar green DAB Tx equipment cabin with GPS aerials attached.

Satellite telemetry dish.

This new looking SHF antenna may well be providing the programme feed for the local DAB multiplexes. I estimate that it is pointing in a north westerly direction.
