Alan initially visited on "a wet, overcast day" and reports: "On a block of flats in the centre of Tamworth, lies the transmitter for community radio station TCR FM. The mound on which Tamworth Castle sits provides a good view of this site!" Alan returned on a better day in September 2016 and the page below includes photos from both visits. There has been a change of transmit antenna in the meantime

TCR FM's kit is located on the block second from right.

On a clear day...and from this direction it's the nearest block

According to Ofcom information the transmitter is an SBS FM 150 and the antenna is a Jaybeam 7500. (Editor's note: the 7500 is an end-fed dipole in a slim fibreglass tube)

(Editor's note: Ofcom data shows vertical polarisation only with omnidirectional coverage - the transmit antenna is most likely that in the centre. Possibly there is some form of link antenna below?)

Here's a better view...quite a busy site. Alan notes that the dipole - or whatever it was - under the link antenna has disappeared.

The transmit aerial looks like it's changed too... it was white in the previous photos. Editor's note: from here it looked grey last time - but it also seems to be half the length and have a different "profile" at the base?

The link antenna points towards TCR FM's studios about 1/4 mile away... Editor's note: cable ties or tape required!

...the studio end of link. I believe the dipole is used to monitor the stations output.
