Community station SFM launched in July 2012 to cover the Sittingbourne area. The station operates from a central site within the town - in name as well as in location. Although not on high ground (19 m ASL according to Ofcom data) and with an antenna at just 20 m the target area seems to be covered adequately. The studios are in the same building so the engineering is straightforward. While checking on the station history it seems there was a hiatus during April 2017 when SFM was unable to broadcast live (an automated service continued) however a five year licence extension was awarded and the station has returned to normal operation.

The studios are based in the hall behind the church, antenna on the roof. The church is on the High Street, on the alignment of Roman Watling Street.

The antenna, meanwhile, is a JayBeam end-fed. No studio link needed.
