February 2018

Fakenham DAB was the last BBC DAB phase 4 expansion site. It entered service on the 19th October 2017. Subsequent BBC DAB sites have all been low power ACI fillers. This tower is next to some farm buildings on the edge of the village of Colkirk and is about two miles south of Fakenham in Norfolk.

Two tiers, each comprising two 5 element band III Yagis for DAB transmit. They are pointing roughly southwest. The opposite direction of Fakenham.

Round to the northeast side of the tower, and in the shade, are two band III dipoles, facing towards Fakenham.

Close up of the northeast facing dipoles.

Two satellite dishes. The larger providing the BBC DAB programme feed. The smaller for telemtry. Also the familiar green cabin housing the DAB transmission equipment with GPS cone antennas attached.

Fakenham, about two miles to the north of this site.
