Show historic services

Harborne is a low power relay serving the suburbs of Ridgeacre and Harborne itself, to the south west of Birmingham city centre.

In analogue days there was a slightly odd arrangement in that BBC1 and ITV1 were transmitted at a power of 10W whereas BBC2 and C4 were on 40W. Presumably this was either to ensure interference limitation or to ensure similar coverage at the higher frequencies. The wide channel spacing meant that Group W wideband aerials were needed for good reception of all four channels.

The year was 1989
