Angel Radio expands FM footprint eastwards

Angel Radio was one of the original Radio Authority Access Radio pilot which began broadcasting on 101.1FM in Havant in 2002. It subsequently gained a full time licence in 2006. The station subsequently moved frequency to 89.3FM in 2017 using a transmitter at Fort Purbrook, before moving again in 2021 to 98.6FM from Fort Widley where it serves the Greater Portsmouth area.

In September 2024 a transmitter in Chichester was brought in to service to provide coverage of the city on 94.8FM.

The mast is tucked away at the edge of a recently developed housing estate.

The collinear antenna at the top of the mast enables an omnidirectional vertical output of the station.
