Comments: Burbage is a relay of Winter Hill (via Buxton)

Show historic services

January 2007

In the southwest part of Buxton is a small relay serving (probably) the area on the hill directly on the side of the hill screened from Buxton itself. I couldn't see any aerials pointing to it, but from the photo it seems likely. On Holmfield is a small pathway between houses that leads to Buxton Country Park. The transmitter is located on a wooden pole in a corner of the field nearest the road behind some trees.

Burbage was built by the BBC to serve about 380 people in Carlisle Road, Carlisle Grove, Park Road, Alder Grove and part of Manchester Road, near the cricket ground in the Park area of Buxton. An area which is about one mile north-east of the Tx site. Burbage entered service in December 1987.
