Comments: Millom Park is a relay of Winter Hill

Show historic services

February 2006

Millom Park is on a hill to the north-west of Millom. It covers the towns and villages along the Duddon Estuary, and some parts of Millom and Barrow-in-Furness.

Winter Hill is received by a trough and a pair of yagis lower down the mast. The path from Winter Hill is over quite a lot of sea so maybe the dual receive antenna system is because of this. The 2 arrays of 4 ADC panels are pointing south-east and north-east. They look quite new.

Millom Park has been in the local paper quite often because of an unreliable electricity supply.

Originally a BBC landlord site, TV channels 1 - 3 entered service on 24th June 1977, with Channel 4 from November 1984. DSO was on 4th November and 2nd December 2009.
